Nine North Team Again Nominated

For the fourth year in a row, Nine North Records has been nominated in the annual CRS-Country Aircheck Awards.

The awards were started by the Country Radio Broadcasters and Country Aircheck in 2010 to honor the best of the best in both the radio and record industries.

Again this year, the Nine North team has been nominated as for the Best Independent Promotion Team (Category 27).

Online voting for the 2013 award is underway and continues until February 14, 2013 at Midnight. Voting is open to all Country radio, record industry and allied industry professionals. You can CLICK HERE to vote for all categories.

Nine North President Larry Pareigis and his Nine North team were the winners of the award in both 2010 and 2011. The 2013 winners will be announced on March 1st at the CRS 2013 New Faces Dinner.

Jay McCarthy Joins Nine North As Director of Promotion, NE

Nine North/Turnpike Music President, Larry Pareigis is proud to announce the hiring of Jay McCarthy as Nine North’s Director of Promotion, Northeast, effective this Monday.

“Tom (Moran, Nine North/Turnpike Music’s VP/Promotion & Marketing) & I could not be happier to bring a player of Jay’s caliber aboard. We’ve all been friends a long time, so given his extensive background in Country radio, the music industry & artist management, this was a move that was absolutely hand in glove,” Pareigis said.

Jay McCarthy’s career in radio began as most do, hosting an overnight show in Binghamton, NY. That led him to Ocala, FL, Poughkeepsie, NY and Hartford, CT, where he was named Regional Director of Country Programming for Clear Channel Communications.

After a brief stint in Jacksonville, FL, McCarthy landed at CBS Radio’s KMLE in Phoenix, AZ in October of 2003. Under his leadership, the station rose from 13th place to 1st in the Arbitron General Market ratings.

After leaving radio, McCarthy joined Red Light Management in Nashville to work with country music superstar Tim McGraw. McCarthy is most proud of sagethree, the company he founded as an incubator for Integrated Marketing and Branding Strategies in the Music and Media space which rapidly expanded into the world of Artist Development, Management and Sponsorship.

McCarthy will be based in Nashville.
